Projects for the people

Do you know where your tax dollars are being spent? The mansion ($3.5million), the city hall ($26million), and the clock ($100,000) were all built or bought for the greater good of the city staff and council with little or no benefit to the citizens.

Do you know where your tax dollars are being spent?

The mansion ($3.5million), the city hall ($26million), and the clock ($100,000) were all built or bought for the greater good of the city staff and council with little or no benefit to the citizens.

The projects listed here have not been for the greater good of the community.

In addition our tax dollars are wasted on planning and re-planning for the “Town Center” and construction of the ELSP. About $5.4 million is budgeted for an operations and maintenance facility.

Do you read the Sammamish City newsletter? The last edition showed a pyramid of the employees of the city.

The citizens of Sammamish were at the top of the pyramid. In other words the city staff are our employees.

Were you ever asked if you wanted a new city hall? Were you ever invited to help plan the design? Would you have ever spent that much money on this building?

Perhaps if the citizens had a say in how their employees spend their tax dollars it would be on traffic improvements (the current ELSP plan is not an improvement) and a community center. Improvements that are for the greater good of the community.

Citizens for Sammamish is a group of concerned citizens, whose main focus is turning the decisions back to the citizens.
