Skyline, EC moving to state playoffs, Issaquah bounced by Union | Prep football news

The Spartans and Crusaders won lopsided games at home while Issaquah ended its season against Union.

Skyline 43 Thomas Jefferson 13

Chase Blackburn put Skyline on top with a first quarter touchdown run and Chandler Wong went in for a two point conversion to make it 8-0, which was as close as Jefferson would get as the Spartans moved back to the 4A state tournament next week with the win.

It will be Federal Way headed to Sammamish next week with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

Eastside Catholic 41 Lincoln 21

The Crusaders emphatically punched their ticket back to the 3A state tournament, rushing out to a 21-0 lead and taking a 28-7 advantage to the halftime break en route to a 41-21 win over Lincoln at Charlie Acosta Field.

Brandon Wellington put his team on the board with a rushing touchdown and added another in the second half.

EC will be on the road next week to face the winner of a Saturday playoff game between Marysville Pilchuck and Blanchet.

Union 51 Issaquah 21

The Eagles saw their season end at home as the visiting Titans from Vancouver built a 51-0 lead and were never threatened in the blowout win.

Issaquah got a pair of late touchdown passes from senior quarterback Jack Neary in his final prep game, one each to Derek Chapman and Tommy Nelson.  Chapman also caught another score late in the game from backup quarterback Cam Humphrey.
