Issaquah wasted no time jumping on Ballard Friday night in Seattle as the Eagles cruised to a 55-15 victory.

Senior quarterback Ethan Kalin passed for five touchdowns of 10, 12, 16, 21 and 37 yards, while sophomore running back Jack Gellatly rushed for three TDs of 4, 5 and 13 yards.

Issaquah led 41-7 at the half and was up 55-7 at one point.

The Eagles moved to 3-0 on the season. They face rival Skyline at 7 p.m., next Friday at IHS.

Skyline drops second straight

The turnover bug that bit Skyline against Bellevue last week, struck again Friday as the Spartans fell 56-46 to Lake Oswego in Oregon.

Two early fumbles led to a quick 21-0 hole Skyline could never dig out of.

Skyline also struggled to stop running back Steven Long, who carried the ball 28 times for an astounding 428 yards and seven touchdowns.

Max Browne ended the game completing a school record  40 of 53 passes for 459 yards. He threw for three touchdowns and one interception.

The Spartans loss was the program’s first two-game skid since 1998.

Skyline (1-2) faces rival Issaquah (3-0) at 7 p.m., next Friday at IHS.

Eastlake survives Roosevelt scare

Second-ranked Eastlake found itself in a hole at halftime of Friday’s game, before rallying for a 41-20 victory over Roosevelt.

The Roughriders carried a 12-7 advantage to the locker room, before the Wolves went on a 34-0 run.

Lineman Gino Bresolin sparked the second-half rally, returning a fumble 65 yards for a TD.

Ryan Lewis went on to rush for two of his three touchdowns in the second half, scoring from 17 and 54 yards. Keegan Kemp and David Hernandez also rushed in scores for Eastlake.

The Wolves (3-0) play rival Redmond (0-3) at 7 p.m., next Friday on the road.
