Eastlake assistant to lead Skyline boys hoops | Prep sports news

An Eastlake assistant has been named to the head coach position for the Skyline boys basketball team and will also work in the football program.

Skyline will have a new face roaming the sideline during the boys basketball season, and it will be a former rival.

Maui Borden, a Microsoft employee who has also been part of the Eastlake football and basketball staffs previously, will also coach football for the Spartans beginning in the fall.

“He brings a passion for the game, knowledge of the community and an outstanding ability to communicate with and motivate student-athletes,” Skyline athletic director Ryan Gilbert said in an email.
