The Issaquah City Council recently adopted revamped tree preservation codes.
The council’s approval marks the culmination of a multi-year effort toward enhancing the city’s tree protection efforts.
In general, the new codes revise how many trees can be removed from single-family, multi-family and commercial properties.
The amendments also define what “significant,” “landmark” and “protected” trees are.
The city is also creating a “tree removal form” to guide property owners through its new application process.
