Issaquah conquers Desert Vista, Gilbert
The Issaquah Eagles boys lacrosse team defeated Desert Vista (Arizona) 10-9 on April 7 in Phoenix. Jake Lindahl scored three goals and won 11 faceoffs. Mikey Giannopulos scored two goals as well in the win. The Eagles won their second consecutive game in Arizona courtesy of a 14-6 win against Gilbert High School (Arizona) on April 8 in Gilbert. Cody Klansnic scored four goals and Ryan Egland added three goals in the victory.
SOFTBALL
Newport wins matchup against Eastlake
The Eastlake Wolves had 12 hits against the Newport Knights in a matchup between KingCo league teams. Unfortunately for the Wolves, it wasn’t enough to register a victory. Newport outscored Eastlake 6-2 in the final three innings of play, en route to a 9-7 win on April 8 in Sammamish. Eastlake will face the Issaquah Eagles at 4 p.m. on April 20 in Issaquah.
Bothell dominates Issaquah
The Bothell Cougars rolled to a 11-1 win against the Issaquah Eagles on April 7 in Bothell. Bothell pounded out 14 hits in the game and scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Issaquah (6-2) will host the Eastlake Wolves at 4 p.m. on April 20 in Issaquah.
BASEBALL
Eagles defeat Spartans in rivalry contest
In a battle between Class 4A KingCo rivals, the Issaquah Eagles reigned supreme against the Skyline Spartans. Issaquah cruised to a 8-3 victory against Skyline on April 10 in Sammamish. Issaquah improved their overall record to 5-4 with the win while Skyline dropped to 5-6 with the loss. Kyle Rodriguez went 3-for-4 for the Eagles in the win. Bryce Hughes had 3 RBI as well.
Crusaders conquer Fighting Irish in Metro league matchup
The Eastside Catholic Crusaders picked up their 10th victory of the 2015 season with a 8-3 win against the O’Dea Fighting Irish on April 10 in Sammamish. Marcus McCannel went 2-for-4 at the plate and Kollin Malsam scored two runs in the win. Eastside Catholic (10-2) will face the Ingraham Rams at 4 p.m. on April 17 in Sammamish.
Eastlake loses close battle against Inglemoor
A big sixth inning unveiled by the Inglemoor Rams derailed the Eastlake Wolves.Inglemoor scored three runs in the top of the sixth en route to a 5-4 win against Eastlake on April 10 in Sammamish. Eastlake will host the Bothell Cougars at 6 p.m. on April 17 in Sammamish.
