The Washington State Department of Natural Resources announced that its summer burn ban will begin July 1 and run through September.
The ban includes all forestlands under DNR protection and doesn’t include federal lands.Just this year, DNR has already had 35 wildfires simply from escaped outdoor burn piles.
DNR strives to keep all its fires under 10 acres.The use of gas and propane self-contained stoves and barbecues will continue to be allowed under the ban.
