Five Issaquah churches are collecting men’s clothing for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank and Union Gospel Mission to distribute to those in need during the winter’s cold.
A total of 80 percent of those who are homeless are men, organizers say, but 80 percent of clothing typically donated is for women and children.
The clothing drive is running for four weeks this month.
All items need to be new or gently-used with no torn or damaged goods. Warm clothing such as boots, hats/caps, gloves, pants, sweaters, tube-type socks, underwear in size 38-40 (or larger), ponchos and coats are needed – all in larger sizes.
