Three from Issaquah-Sammamish headed to state
Only a freshman, Marianne Li continued her stellar introduction to the prep circuit on Wednesday with a second round 73, the lowest carded by any player on either day of the tournament, to run away with the 4A KingCo title by five strokes over second place Fah Anusuriya of Ballard and lead the Knights to the team scoring championship in the process.
Issaquah’s Mersadie Tallman finished the tournament in fourth place and will head to the state tournament with the Eastlake pair of Megan Wortherspoon and Jamie Midkiff, who were sixth and seventh respectively for the Wolves. None of the five Skyline golfers in the field made the cut for state, which begins on Tuesday, May 22 at MeadowWood Golf Course in Spokane.
