A 36-year-old man died and three more people were injured after a reckless driver veered into oncoming traffic near Tiger Mountain Saturday.
Police allege the crash was caused by two cars recklessly driving on state route 18 near the Issaquah-Hobbart Road at about 5 p.m. A 26-year-old Pullman man tried to pass traffic on the right shoulder in a green Toyota Celica, when he lost control, crossed all lanes of traffic and collided with a red Honda Pilot.
The driver of the Honda, Trung D. Ngo, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a 37-year-old passenger, where he died.
A 39-year-old Tacoma man, the alleged second reckless driver, also lost control of his Ford Probe. It flipped and rolled. He was taken to Valley Medical Center.
The driver of the Celica was seriously injured in the collision with the Honda and was also taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Both of the drivers are under investigation for vehicular assault and vehicular homicide.
The Washington State Patrol is still investigating the incident. They’re asking anyone who observed the cars or the accident to call Ruth Medeiros at 425-401-7719.
