The pair of local seniors recently received nominations to the nation's most prestigious prep hoops showcase

The list of nominees for the 2012 McDonald’s All-American game were released recently and included a pair of local players in Eastside Catholic’s Joey Schreiber and Issaquah’s Nick Price.

Price is averaging 21.4 points per game thus far this year in leading his team to a 10-4 overall record (4-4 in league play). He is tied for the team-lead in assists with 25 and rebounds with six and also leads the Eagles in rebounds with 69 and steals with 19.

Washington had the third most nominees of any state with 36, behind only Iowa (77) and Texas (69). In total, 600 high school seniors from around the country received nominations and that list will be pared down to 24 boys and 24 girls during the McDonald’s All American Games selection show, which will air on ESPNU at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9.
