James S. Fitzgerald has joined EvergreenHealth, the Kirkland-based health care system as its in-house district general counsel.

Fitzgerald, formerly the senior member of the Kirkland-based law firm of Livengood, Fitzgerald & Alskog, has a long-standing history of working with EvergreenHealth. He has served as EvergreenHealth’s outside district general counsel since 2001 and has worked on hospital matters since 1978.

EvergreenHealth’s hospital district includes the area of Sammamish.

Fitzgerald is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, the Health Care Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Washington and Oregon State Bar Associations and several other legal associations.He is a 1978 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law and a 1975 graduate of the University of Washington School of Business.
