Skyline’s Bucy leads locals on Washington all-star squad
Skyline junior and ISD lacrosse player Katy Bucy was part of a statewide all-star team that traveled to Pennsylvania to compete in a national tournament that is one of the largest and most respected women’s lacrosse events in the country.
Eastside Catholic’s Justice Gilbert, a junior, was one of the goalkeepers on the team and sophomore Ashley Blanton also made the squad as a midfielder. Issaquah’s Jordan Hepperle and Suzanne Emerson were also part of the team.
Bucy scored three goals in the championship game as Washington won a 9-6 game over an all-star team from New Hampshire and Vermont. The team was 3-0-1 in the tournament and beat teams from Pittsburgh, Penn. and Orange County, Calif. on its way to the title game.
