The weekly Issaquah Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. The interactive map also allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of calls to the Issaquah Police Department. All calls listed, which run from Monday through Sunday, are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Issaquah Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls. In addition, the names of individuals arrested are not listed because of editorial policy to withhold identities of those believed to be not yet charged with a crime.

Between Nov. 2-8, the Issaquah Police Department reported 212 calls including 22 suspicious events, 14 alarm calls, 10 car accidents, 10 thefts, nine disabled vehicles and three domestic violence incidents. At least seven people were arrested.

Nov. 2

Theft: 11:14 a.m., 6100 block of E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. Southeast. Fred Meyer security personnel stopped a 41-year-old Mercer Island woman from allegedly shoplifting $21.65 of miscellaneous items. Police later arrested her for third-degree theft.

Nov. 3

Illegal Camping: 3:36 p.m., 500 block of Front Street South. Officers responded to a report of a person camping on city property. The male individual, who stated he was homeless, was advised of municipal code that restricts camping within city limits.

Nov. 4

Vehicle Prowl: 8:07 a.m., 1600 block of Pineview Dr. Northwest. The owner of a silver 2008 model Suzuki reported a $200 loss from a broken window and stolen wallet at some point overnight.

Burglary: 1:41 p.m., 600 block of NW Locust Street. The inhabitant of a secured unit reported a $100 loss from a damaged door jam, allegedly caused by forcing the door.

No Headlights: 7:50 p.m., Front St. S. & 2nd Ave. Southeast. A female driver driving with an instructional permit was cited with an infraction for driving without illuminating her headlights during hours of darkness.

Nov. 5

Falling Tree Limb: 4:43 p.m., 800 block of Rainer Blvd. North. The owner of a white Audi reported his car was damaged by a falling tree limb.

Nov. 6

Panhandling: 5:59 p.m., NE Gilman Blvd. & Front St. North. Police issued a warning to an individual for violating municipal code on panhandling.

Vehicle Theft: 6:05 p.m., 100 block of E. Sunset Way. A 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, valued at approximately $2,000, was reported stolen from this location.

Animal: 6:53 p.m., W. Sunset Way & Newport Way Northwest. A police officer noticed a stray dog in the middle of traffic and asked the canine if it wanted to go for a ride. The dog jumped into the patrol car and the officer later contacted the pet’s owners and alerted them to his location.

Nov. 7

Traffic Hazard: 7:37 a.m., 100 block of NE Gilman Boulevard. Police helped direct traffic after a high volume of vehicles tried to enter a parking lot at this location during the distribution of the H1N1 flu virus vaccine.

Nov. 8

Vehicle Prowl: 1:23 p.m., 3700 block of Providence Point Dr. Southeast. The owner of a 1995 white Subaru Legacy reported a Canon Power Shot A560 camera, valued at $250, was stolen from inside the vehicle.

Animal: 6:48 p.m., 100 block of 5th Ave. Southeast. A resident reported sighting a bear on the porch of a home at this location. Police were unable to locate the animal.
