The following information was compiled from the City of Sammamish Police reports:
A Sammamish resident called police Aug. 14 to report a “terrible” smell coming from their neighbor’s home.
Upon arrival police found a large amount of garbage accumulating in the front yard of the home in the 3000 block of 252nd Place Southeast. The front door to the home was left wide open and the officer could see numerous cats making their way in and out of the home.
While doing a welfare check, the officer entered the home where he found every room stacked with garbage — some halfway to the ceiling.
The officer also reported a strong smell of feline feces and urine throughout the home.
According to the officer, the cats appeared in good health, minus being infested with fleas.
The responding officer reported multiple fleas crawling across his arms and face. He took photos and submitted a report.
OIL SLICK
A Sammamish man called police Aug. 13 to report that his ex wife dumped a tub of motor oil on his car.
According to the man, the ex became upset that he was getting remarried and confronted him while he was changing the oil in his car..
There was a restraining order filed against the woman, but paperwork wasn’t complete. The ex husband said he didn’t wish to pursue charges against the woman.
ID ISSUES
While responding to a complaint of a loud party, police found a Bellevue man urinating in the bushes of a Sammamish home Aug. 18.
The man presented what appeared to be a real identification to police with his actual picture and a Washington state hologram, indicating he was 22 years old. When the name didn’t check, police realized ID was in fact a really good fake. The man, who was actually 20 years old, was taken into custody by police for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He later blew a .185.
When asked where he got the fake ID, he said he paid a stranger $100 for it.
EGGED AGAIN
A Sammamish man called police Aug. 15 to report his vehicle had been egged for a third time.
The man, who lives in the 1600 block of 219th Place Northeast, said he didn’t report the previous two incidents.
The victim said he attempted to wash the egg off his car, but the hot weather made it stick to the paint. He had to take his vehicle in to be detailed. The man said he believes the eggings to be random and has no idea why he would be specifically targeted.
MULTIPLE THEFTS
A renter on Eastlake Sammamish Parkway Northeast called police Aug. 13 to report someone broke into multi-level duplex, stealing several items.
There were two homes on the property, both turned into duplexes. Three of the four units were broken into.
Thieves entered one unit through a kitchen window by removing an air conditioner.
More than $15,000 in items were reported taken, including a television, laptop, jewelry and digital SLR camera.
CAR BREAK IN
A Woodinville woman had her car broken into sometime in the afternoon of Aug. 18 in the 1500 block of Eastlake Sammamish Parkway.
Thieves stole a bag containing the woman’s company laptop, a personal hard drive and personal financial papers.
BURGLARY
A Sammamish man called police Aug. 18 to report that someone broke into his home while he was on vacation and stole a brand new flat screen TV.
The man, who lives in the 2400 block of 231st Place Northeast, had his sliding glass door pried open.
The TV was valued at 1,600. Thieves also took a pair of shoes delivered by UPS.
SUSPICIOUS MALES
A Sammamish woman called police Aug. 10 to report a suspicious car parked near her home in the 2100 block of 235th Place Northeast.
Upon arrival police found an 18 year-old and two 21-year old males drinking alcohol and detected the smell of marijuana. The driver was taken into custody.
