The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and incidents in the city of Issaquah. Anyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

April 29

ILLEGAL DUMPING: At 3:38 p.m. in the 300 block of Shangri-La Way NW, the caller provided the license plate number of a vehicle involved in an illegal dumping on her property. The plate was incorrect. Police advised her to call back upon obtaining the correct plate if the vehicle returns.

April 30

NO CAMPING ALLOWED: At 1:43 p.m. at Northwest Dogwood Street, officers contacted a male and female under the bridge. It appeared they had been there for awhile. Police told them there is no camping in the city and advised them to move on. They picked up their stuff and left.

May 1

SUSPECT FLED ON FOOT: At 3:03 a.m. in the 1400 block of Highlands Drive NE, police responded to an assault in progress at the Highlands Safeway. Dispatch was advised that employees were trying to block the suspect inside the store. The subject fled on foot.

PARTY FOUL: At 8:05 p.m. in the 1800 block of 15th Place NW, a motel employee reported hearing yelling and banging from the room directly above the motel office. Officers contacted the subject inside the room, along with two other people who did not have their ID. The subject said he dropped his bond outside the room on the sidewalk and was upset because it broke.

WHITE SUBSTANCE: At 10:20 p.m. in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd., an employee reported he found a small baggie with white substance inside in the bathroom.

May 2

DEAD BIRD: At 9:16 a.m. in the 4500 block of 192nd Ave. SE, the reporting party went to the Issaquah police station to report suspicious circumstances. He said he found a dead bird near the front step of his home.

May 3

COLD FEET: At 5:21 p.m. in the 1800 block of 10th Ave. NW, police contacted a woman who called police after she noticed her husband’s vehicle. She advised police that it was the wrong vehicle and said she was nervous about her husband due to their upcoming court date.

CAUGHT COLD-HANDED: At 11:27 p.m. in the 1400 block of Highlands Drive NE, police contacted suspected thieves and questioned them about stealing. They advised police that they did not steal anything and that it may have appeared as if they stole because the female had placed juice in her bag because it was cold. She had a receipt for all of her goods.

May 4

MAN IN THE BUSHES: At 10:02 p.m. in the 600 block of Mt. Fury Circle SW, police contacted a man at St. Joseph Church after police received a report of a suspicious subject hiding in the bushes. The man was very skittish and his story changed often. Police advised the complainant that there was no evidence of a crime. Police told the subject to leave Issaquah and directed him towards the bus station.

FALSE AMBER ALERT VEHICLE: At 11:26 p.m. at Renton-Issaquah Road SE, Issaquah police assisted the King County Sheriff’s Office with an area check for a possible amber alert vehicle at the Hilton Garden Inn parking lot. Police found it was not the right vehicle.

BRANDISHING A CELL PHONE: At 2:04 p.m. in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road, police contacted the subject who matched the description in the area. Police frisked him and found he had no weapons on him. The man claimed he waved a cell phone around in anger trying to get service and has no weapons.

USE YOUR INSIDE VOICE: At 2:40 p.m. in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd., p0lice responded to a suspicious male yelling at Safeway but he had left at the time of the call. An officer located the subject at Target’s parking lot entrance. He said he was upset about his money not being loaded onto his EBT card. Police advised him to yell outside the next time he feels the need to so he won’t get trespassed from another place.

SUSPICIOUS MALE COMES BACK: At 3:27 p.m. in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd., police responded to Safeway after the suspicious male who previously yelled in the store over his empty EBT card was causing another scene. This time, the manager wanted the man trespassed. Police located the man panhandling at 10th Avenue Northwest. He refused to sign a trespass form and declined to take his copy. He was told not to go into the store or the parking lot.

DUI ARREST: At 11:17 p.m. at Newport Way Northwest and 17th Avenue Northwest, a 73-year-old Issaquah man was arrested for DUI. His blood alcohol content was .111.
