Issaquah Valley Elementary School has a new principal for the next school year.
Superintendent Ron Thiele announced in a letter to parents Monday that the Issaquah School District had hired Amber Walsh as principal, effective July 1.
Walsh is presently a technology integration specialist for the Lake Washington School District, where she works to incorporate technology into the learning process.
Previously, she was an instructional coach with South Washington County Schools in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to become part of Issaquah Valley Elementary,” Walsh said. “I look forward to bringing my excitement for education to the community.”
Walsh will be the second Issaquah Valley principal in a row to be hired from the Lake Washington School District. Current principal Denise Waters had been a teacher at Rockwell Elementary in Redmond before being hired on in July 2014.
Waters announced to parents in February that she would be leaving as principal of Issaquah Valley to pursue new career opportunities.
