Issaquah and Sammamish residents looking to track local construction and remodeling projects are able to do so with one click of a mouse.
San Francisco-based BuildZoom, a website that matches homeowners and property owners to contract owners, has provided building permit maps for the Issaquah and Sammamish communities since 2015.
The permit maps provide details about projects taking place in local neighborhoods, including a summary of the work, how much it cost and who did the work.
Residents may simply key in their address and see the details of what projects are happening where. Users may also use the permit map to learn about the contractors who have previously worked in their neighborhoods.
BuildZoom data analyst Jack Cookson said the website gathers its data from two sources: building permits from local building departments across the country and also collecting information from every licensed contractor in the state of Washington.
“We’re trying to map the entire country,” Cookson said, adding that users who are looking for local, specialized contractors may find them through the BuildZoom website.
BuildZoom provides daily updates to its Sammamish permit map and weekly updates to its Issaquah map. Sammamish residents may access the permit map online at www.buildzoom.com/map/sammamish-wa. The Issaquah map is available at www.buildzoom.com/map/issaquah-wa.
