The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

DON’T TALK TO STRANGERS: A man living in the 900 block of NE Ellis Drive called police at 12:21 p.m. to say that he was worried because he had given his social security number out over the phone to an insurance company that he later found out didn’t exist. He was not missing any funds yet, but was anxious that someone could get his bank information. Police gave the man instructions on how to protect his identity.

SO TRASHY: At 10:02 p.m., it was reported that a group of juveniles was riding garbage cans down the road in the 1700 block of Harrison Court NE. Police arrived at the location but did not spot any garbage can-riders.
Dec. 18
DODGING POLICE: A man and woman were observed having a loud argument at 1:02 p.m. in the 900 block of 5th Ave. NW. The woman yelled for help before getting into a blue Dodge Dakota truck with the man. The truck took off towards the Safeway in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd. at a high speed. Issaquah Police alerted Washington State Patrol and the Snoqualmie Police Department to the incident.

OVERFLOWING WITH CRIME: A subject at the Issaquah Jail in the 100 block of E. Sunset Way flooded a portion of the jail at 6:27 p.m. The prisoner was taken to King County Jail and booked without incident there.
THINKS HE’S A CAR: It was reported at 7:03 p.m. that a man was walking in traffic along the 500 block of Mountain Park Blvd. SW. The man was purportedly confronting drivers and behaving in a strange manner. Police patrolled the area but did not see him. Police also spoke with neighbors in the area, who stated that they had not witnessed anything suspicious.
THE PARKING GARAGE CAFE: Police went to a parking garage in the 700 block of Front St. S. at 7:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a man loitering there. Police found the man sitting on the floor and eating. He told police that he had been visiting a friend and was now trying to stay warm. There did not appear to be any damage to any of the cars in the garage. Police asked the man to leave the premises and he complied.
MORE TRAFFIC DISTURBANCES: A report came in from the King County Sheriff’s Office at 10:01 p.m. that a man was shouting and walking through lanes of traffic in the 900 block of 9th Ave. NE and Northeast High Street. According to the report, the subject stated that he would fight any officers who responded to the scene. Issaquah Police went to the scene but could not find the subject.

STOLEN FROM BILL: A resident of the 3400 block of NE Harrison St. told police at 7:46 p.m. that someone left a smashed Hillary Clinton figurine on her front doorstep between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. that day. She said that she did not own such a figurine and that she had no idea where it had come from.

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU: A woman who had been shopping at the Ross in the 900 block of NW Gilman Blvd. the previous day called police at 1:37 p.m. to say that she believed there was a spy camera in the store’s bathroom. When she returned to the store, the mysterious camera was gone. She did not know what to do next. Police suggested she speak with Ross management about the camera so they could be on the lookout for such devices in the future.

PLAYING TELEPHONE: A patient residing in a care facility in the 800 block of Front St. S. kept calling police over and over again around 3 a.m. The patient had mental issues and Eastside Fire responded to the scene.
