LOOKING FOR BURIED TREASURE: A city employee reported at 4:49 p.m. that a person with a metal detector was digging in a park in the 100 block of E. Sunset Way. Police observed the subject dig a clump of grass, search through it, then put it back.
May 12
I THROW MY HANDS UP IN THE AIR SOMETIMES: Police observed a panhandler at the intersection of Northwest Sammamish Road and 10th Avenue Northwest at 10:29 a.m. The panhandler was not doing anything illegal, but he did wave his hands around in the air a lot.
May 13
FREE ENTERTAINMENT: Police receved a report from a resident of a building in the 1300 block of Huckleberry Circle at 7:56 a.m. She said that the people in the condo above hers were slamming doors and being loud in general. Police advised her to speak to her condo manager, but also spoke with the homeowner about quieting down.
SECRET ADMIRER: A woman told police at 9:15 a.m. that upon leaving her home in the 200 block of Mountain Park Blvd. SW that morning, she had noticed a note on the front door that said, “You’re so pretty, girl” and included a phone number.

AHOY MATEY: A person in the 6400 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE reported at 5:04 p.m. that a man had bought a boat from him, but the check had bounced. The man had repeatedly assured the seller he would pay for the boat, but had so far not come through.
May 16
LOOK FOR IT ON YOUTUBE: Two drivers got into a dispute over an alleged parking violation at 6:18 p.m. in the 1900 block of NE Park Drive. They honked their horns at one another and made video recordings of each other, which escalated the situation.
May 17
GIFTS FROM SANTA: At 9:45 a.m., a suspicious person rang the doorbell of a home in the 2200 block of NW Stoney Creek Drive and left a pair of shoes and a coat hanger on the front porch.
WHAT A PEST: A complaint was made at 7:43 p.m. of a man possibly casing homes in the 2000 block of 31st Lane NE. Police spoke with the man, who said that he was from Croach Pest Control. The man said that he was looking for new customers in the area and would be leaving shortly.
STILL A PEST: The Croach man was still lingering in the 3200 block of NE Larkspur Lane at 8:39 p.m. Police called the man on the telephone, and he said he would be picked up shortly.
May 18
THE VON TRAPPS ARE FIGHTING: At 4:26 p.m., a couple with seven children was arguing loudly in the 6200 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. Police contacted them and they said they would leave.
THE DRIVING DEAD: A man reported a fender-bender in the QFC parking lot, located in the 1500 block of NW Gilman Blvd. The man had been backing out of a stall when a woman in a Jeep ran into him. The man said that the woman was in her 40s with dark hair and “looked like a zombie.”
