Students from Eastlake High School (EHS) and Juanita High School (JHS) won awards at the 10th annual Student BioTech Expo this month.

This Expo is a judged science fair where students can submit projects in a diverse set of categories from Art to Laboratory Research. Over 325 students competed from 19 schools across Washington State.

Eastlake’s Alicia McMurchie won first place in the Molecular Modeling section with her work “GbuA: How Stressed Out Protiens Cope.”

Stephanie King from Juanita High School took first place in the Teaching category, with her project “The Genetic & Environmental Causes Of Major Depressive Disorders.”

Eastlake student Monisha Gulabani won a second place award for her Web site “Lower Limb Prosthetics: Step by Step.”
