The Issaquah School District has an important levy election on Feb. 13. Voters are being asked to renew the current levies, and to continue the essential student supports that they fund. In Issaquah, the Educational Programs and Operations levy alone provides 15 percent of the district’s budget.
In our work to help support students in our district, we see the positive impacts of strong community support on a regular basis. By voting for these levies, you help fund such things as student support coaches, nurses, additional mental health counselors, additional academic guidance counselors, additional teaching staff in areas like special education, ESL and highly capable classrooms, as well as technology to aid staff and students.
While these services are available to every student in our district, they are especially important to those in need. For students who are struggling with food insecurity, or who are unable to fully purchase school supplies, or who simply need a stronger school connection to propel them toward success, these are life-saving services.
We believe every child should be given the opportunity to succeed in a high quality educational environment. Please join us in voting for all three school levies on Feb. 13. For many of our students, this is the most important vote you can provide this year.
