Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) announces their new Community Liaison Officer (CLO), Captain Steve Johnson, who began the assignment on July 1.

Steve started his career in the fire service as a volunteer in 1992 and was hired at EF&R at its inception in 1999. He has worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to Captain in 2011. Steve is first and foremost a family man, married and has two daughters.

EF&R finalized the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan, which identifies Community Partnerships & Outreach as a strategic priority. The CLO represents EF&R as the Public Information Officer (PIO) and shall be working towards implementing the objectives in the Strategic Plan. This includes public education and outreach, community initiatives, and marketing strategies to enhance visibility and interaction within the community we serve.

EF&R is proud to offer community CPR classes, first aid training and Community Emergency Response Training (CERT). We look forward to partnering with you to improve the safety and security of our neighborhoods, both in cities and rural areas.
