The Downtown Issaquah Association will present its ninth annual Issaquah Zombie Walk on Oct. 27.

All ages are invited to dress up as zombies and congregate at the Historic Shell Station, crawl along Front Street and then dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and the Rocky Horror Picture Show song, “Time Warp.”

“I’m thrilled how big the Zombie Walk has become and is now a fun tradition in Issaquah for our ninth year,” said Tom Gotuzzo, one of the Issaquah Zombie Walk founders. “My intention has been to bring people together for a celebration of community and friendship while enjoying our wonderful town. It’s always a killer good time.”

The undead should begin to congregate at the historic Shell Station (232 Front St.) at 1:30 p.m. for makeup, practice the “Thriller” and “Time Warp” dances, connect with friends and make new ones. The official Zombie Walk starts at 4:30 p.m. when the zombies devote 30 minutes to attracting the attention of motorists, diners and passersby on Front Street. Then at 5 p.m. the zombies will take over City Hall just east of Front Street and dance to the songs on the City Hall steps. The event is free, open to all ages and all skill levels.

The Studio at Issaquah will offer “Thriller” dance classes from 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. on Oct. 12 and 19 (both Fridays) at the dance studio at 1871 NW Gilman Blvd., Suite 3. The cost of the class is $5 per person per session. The classes will be hosted by dance instructor Alyson Young (www.windancerintegrativearts.com).

Prizes will be awarded for best adult, child and family costumes.
