PATIENCE TURNER RUSI

Feb 15, 1937 – Aug 21, 2019

Wednesday Aug 21, 2019 our beloved mother, Patience Turner Rusi passed away at Rosario Assisted Living Center in Anacortes, WA from her 10-year struggle with the effects of dementia.

Patience was a devoted wife to Ermanno Rusi 1930 – 2013, and is survived by her children, Tony, Lisa and Rob and her 3 grandchildren, Alexia, 21, Chris, 19 and Alina, 16; her brother James W. Turner, CDR USNR of Newport Beach, CA and his family and her sister Susie Bell and her family – long time residents of Issaquah.

Patience was a 60-year resident of Issaquah and grew up in Pasadena and Santa Barbara, CA and Grants Pass, Oregon.

Patience was a well known City of Issaquah community figure. She worked over 20 years for King County Parks and Recreation primarily at the Issaquah Pool 1969-1989 teaching swimming, water safety instruction, CPR and boating safety. If you or your child learned to swim in King County you probably learned from someone Patience instructed.

Patience volunteered for the State of Washington Chapter of the Red Cross teaching CPR and was the coach for the Special Olympic Swim Team of the State of Washington for several years teaching all children competitive swimming strategies.

Patience started several Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout Troops, and rabbit and horse 4-H Clubs from 1969 – 1984.

It is safe to say “you would find Patience on the water somewhere” but she had a special place in her heart for East Lake Sammamish where she and her family lived for 50 years.

A truly remarkable soul sporting a head of gorgeous silvery- white flowing hair. We were privileged to know her and share her life.

Sail on Silver Gal – you are a shooting star that gave so much to so many along this life path – Thank you for choosing us! You will be missed! It is IMPOSSIBLE to forget this LADY – Patience – our Mom – a wife – a sister – an Aunt – a GRAND MOTHER – A GRAND PERSON! Always in our hearts – we are grateful for you.

God Speed Patience – it will be our blessing seeing you again!

A celebration of life will be held September 14, 2019 at 1pm at Flintofts 580 house in Issaquah,WA.
