SAMMI Awards Foundation announces 2016 winners

The free annual SAMMI awards event will be held from 7-9 p.m. on March 12 at the Sammamish Teen Club/Boys & Girls Club, 825 228th Ave NE, Sammamish. The reception will begin at 6 p.m.

Sammamish Acknowledging Magnificent Moments of Inspiration (SAMMI) Awards Foundation announced the following 2016 SAMMI award winners:

• Courage: The Taylor Family “Strong4Sam Foundation”

• Circle of Service: Norm Bottenberg, Tina Butt, Julie Siefkes, Kristina Williams

• Community Spirit: Lee Chumbley, Alan Finkelstein, Cheryl Smith

• Youth Spirit: Mitch Flippo, Liem Kaplan, Afeef Sheikh, Angela Shi

• Environmental Stewardship: Jan Bird, Sid Gupta

The foundation has been honoring outstanding individuals in the community since 2001. This non-profit organization was formed to celebrate and promote the stories of outstanding community members thereby inspiring others to take up the call to volunteer and continue the circle of service.
