Brian Mogg has picked up more than his share of honors on the golf course during his prep career and in offseason tournaments, and last week he added another feather to his cap with a win in the Bill Egbers Memorial Golf Tournament, beating out Interlake’s Patrick Sato by two strokes.
Mogg, who finished in a tie for third at the 4A state tournament last year during the high school season, shot 73-73-146 to edge Sato, as well as Eastlake counterparts Li Wang (154) and Spencer Weiss (158), each of whom also finished near the top in 4A last year.
Issaquah freshman Zach Overstreet shot 79-79-158.
The invite-only tournament featured 116 of the state’s top prep golfers and it was Mogg left standing after two rounds of play.
