Flooding from Issaquah Creek that closed North Front Street has crested and is now slowly receding, as of Friday afternoon, Jan. 7.

Flood waters from the creek peaked late Thursday night, reaching heights just below 8 feet, which was enough to trigger a phase two alert. Part of Dogwood Street also remains open to local access only.

Issaquah remains under a flood watch until Saturday afternoon (Jan. 8), according to the National Weather Service. The city is asking residents not to walk or drive through waters as crews work to respond to flood issues.

The flood comes as melting snow and heavy rainfall hit the region. SeaTac Airport recorded over a 1.5 inches of rainfall between 10 p.m. Jan. 6 and 4 a.m. Jan 7. The city is expected to see less than one-tenth of an inch of rain Friday night.
