The Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is asking for input on a proposed bag ban and paper bag fee the city is considering.
The chamber has yet to take a stance on the ordinance.
The ban, similar to Seattle’s, would not only prevent grocery stores from using plastic bags, but would require them to charge customers 5 cents for paper bags.
Surveys on matters of public policy that may affect the local business community are intended to gauge the opinions of those engaging in business in the greater Issaquah region, in support of the Chamber’s mission to represent the interests of business to government.
