While officials with Mars Hill Church in Sammamish have remained silent, their building is for sale while officials with the Bellevue chapter have announced their merger.

On Nov. 12, Pastor Jason Skelton announced that the Mars Hill Bellevue campus, which will be renamed “Bellevue Church” in January 2015, will be merging with the Sammamish campus of the Seattle-based megachurch, which announced its dissolution Oct. 31, effective by the end of the year.

In a letter posted by Bellevue elder Jamie Skelton and reported by religion news blog Patheos, James Skelton wrote that elders for both churches reached the decision after prayer.

“Together, we’ll have one church on the Eastside,” Jason Skelton said. “Many of you know we planted Sammamish out of this Bellevue church and we’re excited to reconnect with old friends, worship together as a larger family and join together on mission for Jesus on the Eastside.”

Mars Hill’s six year old, two floor, 30,807 square foot Sammamish building is currently listed as for sale by the Commercial Brokers Association and Collier International. The 21.5 acre lot is currently listed for $8.75 million.

Calls to Mars Hill Sammamish by the Reporter for comment have not been returned. Mars Hill Bellevue will hold an information meeting Sunday, Nov. 16 at 12:30 p.m.
