The Spartans went up 13-0 in the second quarter after a pair of Sean McDonald field goals and quarterback Max Browne’s 42-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Giese.

Roosevelt pulled within six points, 13-7, after connecting for a 24-yard TD.

The Spartans answered with 25 unanswered points to pull away for good. Browne (17-for-24, 290 yards, 3 TDs) hit Nic Sblendorio from 2 yards out and Trevor Barney for a 5-yard TD.

Damien Greene carried the ball 10 times for 89 yards, scoring once on a 4-yard TD.

Backup quarterback Nate Gibson completed 5 of 6 passes for 109 yards, including a 70-yard TD pass to Chase Premone.

Skyline (6-3), the No. 3 seed from the KingCo 4A will host the WesCo No. 3 team, Monroe (6-3), at 7:30 p.m., Friday in the state-qualifying round. The winner of that game is the District  2 No. 3 team and will have to travel east of the mountains to face the top District 5/6/8 team in the first round of state.
