A coast-to-coast survey by CNN and Money Magazine has identified Sammamish as one of the very “best places” to live in the entire country.

Noting its excellent schools, beautiful environment, broad range of recreational activities and proximity to high-paying job centers, the survey ranked Sammamish 12th out of 100 top cities. The city of Mukilteo was placed above Sammamish at 10th on the list. Newcastle was placed 17th.

“We didn’t exist as a city until 10 years ago, so this is great recognition,” said City Manager Ben Yazici. “It shows our residents, City Council and city staff have done a lot of hard work over the past decade.”

The evaluation article also notes the city’s long-term planning, beautiful lakes and low crime rate.
