Kid’s Day at Farmers Market: There will be a Kid’s Day at the Issaquah Farmers Market from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 30. Children 18 or under are invited to sell handmade items. Registration is required by calling 425-837-3311. Cascade Mirimba Youth Band will perform at 11 a.m. Children’s artwork will be on display in the Hay Barn. Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale: Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave NW, Issaquah. Offering a wide selection of locally grown organic vegetable, herb and edible flower plants. Plants are organically grown and hand-selected by the Seattle Tilth experts to perform well in our Pacific Northwest climate and will include tomatoes, peppers, squash, salad greens, and cucumbers, culinary herbs such as basil, oregano, rosemary, some heirloom varieties and edible flowers. Trivia Night: Sponsored by the Issaquah Sister Cities Commission, 7 p.m., Monday, June 8 at the Issaquah Brewhouse, 35 W. Sunset Way. Proceeds from Trivia Night will be used to help bring two artists from Issaquah’s sister city, Chefchaouen, Morocco, to share their art and culture with the community during Issaquah Salmon Days. There is no pre-registration for the event. Participants are urged to come early to ensure that they can secure a table. The brewhouse will be open during its normal operating hours. The entry fee is just $10 for each team of up to four people.

Trash or Treasure: Professional appraisers will give verbal market evaluation for antiques, dolls, quilts, etc. No furniture accepted. Appraisal is $5 per item, limit six per person. Prom Dreams … Pass It On: We are having our very first Dress Drive on June 13 at the old Shell station in downtown Issaquah, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We are hoping to collect enough prom dresses between now and early next year to support a series of “prom boutique events” for girls attending their 2010 Senior Prom. These events will probably be held between early April and May, and will extend to high school students within the Issaquah School District. More info: 425-395-1212 .

District wide middle school dance: Grades 6-8. Issaquah Youth Center. Friday, June 12, 7-10 p.m. Fee: $5. Parents – once youth are in the door, they are in until 10 p.m., unless a parent meets them in the lobby. We do not allow youth to leave the building unescorted. Please leave all backpacks and skateboards at home. All youth will pass through a metal detector upon entrance. Concessions are available. Our Savior Lutheran Church: Sunday, May 31, 6-8 p.m., Our Savior Lutheran Church will host a lecture and open discussion on the Church’s relationship, past and present, with Israel. Dr. George W.E. Nickelsburg, known internationally for his specialty in Judaism and the origins of Christianity, will summarize the entwined history of Jews, Christians and Muslims from Abraham to modern times. Bishop William Chris Boerger will speak about the church’s role and responsibility in advocating peace between Israel and Palestine. Seeking new musicians: The Sammamish Symphony Orchestra is composed of adult volunteer musicians dedicated to performing concerts and maintaining outreach programs.
