Skyline didn’t have a medalist, but the Spartans dominated Garfield Monday afternoon at the Plateau Club.
Shirley Chung, Bryalnn Vowels, Emma Farno and Layla Hiramoto grabbed second through fifth place to help Skyline to a 276-327 team victory over the Bulldogs.
Chung shot an 11-over 47 to lead the Spartans. Vowels (53), Farno (57) and Hiramoto (59) rounded out the field.
Garfield’s Christine Palpallatoc claimed medalist honors with a 10-over par, 46.

Skyline blanks Wenatchee on the road
Skyline made the best of a long road trip Monday, beating Wenatchee 2-0.
Austin Crow got the Spartans on the board first in the 26th minute, scoring on an assist from Travis Strawn.
Braxton Griffin added an insurance goal in the 56th minute via an assist from Geoffrey Enos.
Skyline improved to 7-0-2 overall. The Spartans are scheduled to face Redmond next at 7:30 p.m., Friday in Sammamish.
BASEBALL
Issaquah takes fourth straight
Issaquah won its fourth consecutive game Monday, downing Ballard 8-3 at IHS.
The Eagles never trailed, rallying for a five runs in the bottom of the third.
Brandon Mahovlich and Matt Gonn had RBI singles in the inning, while Blake Miller and Jack Gellatly earned RBI bases-loaded walks. Gonn scored later on wild pitch.
Mahovlich pitched a complete seven innings for the victory, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. He also led Issaquah at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
The Eagles, who recorded their fourth straight victory, improved to 4-4 in league and 6-8 overall. They are next scheduled to face Bothell at 6 p.m., Wednesday on the road.
Skyline comeback falls short
Skyline trailed by five runs twice on Monday, but couldn’t quite complete a comeback, falling 7-5 to Inglemoor at SHS.
Down 7-2 in the fifth, the Spartans rallied for three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Nate Litka led the charge, going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and three RBI.
Skyline didn’t help its cause, committing four errors in the loss. The Spartans dropped to 3-4 in league and 5-7 overall. They are scheduled to face Garfield next at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday in Seattle.
Eastlake tripped up by Roosevelt
Eastlake dug a hole early Monday and was unable to climb out, falling 6-3 to Roosevelt in Sammamish.
The Wolves gave up two runs in the first and second and fourth innings, for a 6-0 deficit.
They managed two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth and another in the seventh before dropping their eighth straight game. No stats were reported.
Eastlake is now 0-6 in league and 3-8 overall. The Wolves are next scheduled to face Woodinville at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday on the road.
