Wine Walk returns to downtown Issaquah on Friday, April 4

Wine and walking will be back in downtown Issaquah on Friday evening, April 4 as part of the third annual Downtown Issaquah Association Wine Walk series.

 

Wine and walking will be back in downtown Issaquah on Friday evening, April 4 as part of the third annual Downtown Issaquah Association Wine Walk series.

The walk includes live music, art happenings, some snacks and local boutique wines poured in various tasting locations up and down Front Street. Front Street shops and restaurants are open to the general public during Wine Walk and all ages are welcome.

Those tasting wine are encouraged to bring their own glass to held reduce waste.

Wineries include: Animale, Armstrong Family Winery, Belmonte Cellars, Dubindil Winery, Elsom Cellars, Goose Ridge Estate Winery, Kyra Wines, Masquerade Wine Company, Michael Florentino Cellars, and Stomani Cellars

The wine walk venues include ArtByFire Glass Blowing Studio, Illuminate, artEAST Art Center, First Stage, Fischer Meats, CoHo Computers, U Swirl, Chicago Pastrami, Eastside Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.

A variety of live music performances will include:

Bodacious Ladyhood, a Seattle-based trio of women who have been singing together for over a decade. They feature parts harmony, one part comedy and a whole lot of fun.

Courtney Cutchins, a Seattle-area jazz vocalist, composer and bassists Chris Symer share their passion for lyricism, interesting harmonies and horn-like scatting. The created sound is as hip as they look.

Accoustic Fantasy is an instrumental group that play acoustic music mostly based around the flamenco style incorporating jazz elements and catchy grooves.

Mills Music will feature its Open Mic night with those wishing to perform strongly encouraged to sign up in advance. However, walk-ins are always welcome. More information is at 425-392-1000.

Art also is part of the eventing. At ArtByFire, master glass blower Leonard Whitfield will show off his collection of hand-blown glass and demonstrate the glass blowing process by creating art pieces. The artEAST gallery will be open with items including sculpture, wall décor, jewelry and more.

Tickets for the rain, snow or shine event are available online at www.downtownissaquah.com/wine-walk. Cost is $25 in advance or $30 day of the event. The price includes 10 one-ounce drink tokens. People must be 21 or over to purchase wine-tasting tickets.

Check in starts at 6 p.m. at the Hailstone Feed store (the historic Shell Station), 232 Front St. Will call for pre-paid tickets require identification for the name tickets were purchased under. Maps of tasting locations, plastic wine glass, tokens and wristband are provided at check in. Bottles of wine featured in the tastings will be available for purchase at the Hailstone Feed Store.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Downtown Issaquah Association and its nonprofit partners.
