The Mustangs’ Jason Harrington and Issaquah’s Nick Price both scored 21 points, but it was Redmond that earned the six point win. Leslie Ellis added 12 for the Stangs and was aided by Kyle Sawtell’s 11 and another 10 points from Conner Floan. Fletcher Martin was the only other Eagle in double-figures with 12.
Girls basketball
Eastside Catholic 49 Blanchet 57
Michaela O’Rourke scored a game-high 27 points for the Crusaders, but Blanchet overcame an early nine point deficit in a 57-49 win.
Laura Walker with 14 and Micah Lussier with 11 were the only two Braves players in double-figures, but seven players scored at least five points in the win. Ashley Blanton scored eight and Sarah Hill added seven for EC in the loss.
Redmond 37 Skyline 56
The Spartans carried a 12 point lead into the break and ran away with a 56-37 win behind a game-high 17 points from Megan Wiedeman and 10 each from Morgan Farrar and Allie Wyszynski.
Lauren Bogard finished with eight to lead the Mustangs.
Newport 33 Eastlake 42
Marijke Vanderschaaf scored 13 points to lead the Lady Wolves, which overcame a six point deficit with a 21-6 outburst in the final quarter.
Casey Schoenlein scored seven points to lead the Knights and Abby Carlson and Kendra Morrison both finished with eight for Eastlake in the win.
