The city spent an additional $161,000 to install dedicated bike lanes and physical barriers along a westbound lane and pedestrian walkway on Newport Way Northwest.

The improvements better fit the city’s “complete street” initiative.

Even with the changes, the project still came in under budget by about $200,000.
