Fallen power poles close part of SE 20th Street | Scattered outages in Sammamish and Issaquah

After restoring power to all but 5,000 customers, a PSE spokesperson reports a localized wind storm hit at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, affecting 20,000 customers from Bothell to Puyallup.

Southeast 20th Street from 212th Avenue to 215th Avenue was closed down for what was expected to be the majority of Thursday after two power poles fell into the roadway. Puget Sound Energy was summoned to the scene to correct the poles.

Scattered power outages persisted in Issaquah and Sammamish for a second day, following a Wednesday that saw thousands without electricity in both communities.

Helicopter patrols were scheduled to check transmission lines in flooded locations.

More wind and rain were expected throughout Thursday and on Saturday.
