The following information was compiled from city of Sammamish police reports:
A Sammamish man called police April 16 to report the destruction of his personal street sign.
The man, who lives in the 20000 block of Northeast 42nd Street, said he placed a plastic reflective sign shaped like a child and said “slow” near the roadway. He came home to find the sign broken into pieces, stating it looked like someone drove over it.
The man said people often speed down the street and there are several children who play in the area.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE
A concerned neighbor contacted Sammamish police April 15 after witnessing a suspicious car parked across the street from her neighbor’s home.
The caller said her neighbors were out of town for two months and was worried the two people in the vehicle were staking out the home in the 24000 block of Northeast 30th Place. When the woman approached the car, it quickly sped off.
MYSTERY DAMAGE
A woman contacted Sammamish police April 12 after taking her daughter’s car to the repair shop to have a taillight replaced.
Body shop workers told the woman it looks like someone backed into the car causing more damage than she realized. The trunk was damaged so badly it couldn’t be opened. T
he woman believes the vehicle was probably stuck while grocery shopping earlier in the week.
MISSING EMAILS
A Sammamish woman contacted police April 8, regarding the deletion of specific emails in her personal account related to her ex husband and an ongoing child pornography case.
The woman said she believes someone accessed her account by answering security questions and deleted the emails.
GUNS STOLEN
A Sammamish man called police April 19 to report someone kicked their way through the front door of his condo and stole several items, including two guns.
Thieves nabbed a Bushmaster .223 caliber assault rifle with a red laser sight and a stainless steal hand gun with an attached laser.
The items were valued just shy of $2,200. Thieves also took a laptop and a gaming counsel from the condo in the 500 block of 225th Lane Northeast.
SCAMMED
A Sammamish man contacted police after being scammed in an online purchase of a motorcycle. The man sent two payments, each just shy of $2,500, to a third party.
The first time he sent the money to EBay Motors, which claimed the original agent had all his clients transferred because a death in the family.
He then sent his second payment. The victim became suspicious when the sellers asked for an addition $1,500 in a “refundable” insurance payment.
