The Eagles fell behind 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning, but broke the game open in the bottom of the third with three runs via an RBI double from Conner Young, a sacrifice fly from Jake Bakamus and another run scored on an error.

Spencer Rogers earned the victory on the mound, and also went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI.

Issaquah improved to 9-3 in league and 13-3 overall. The Eagles are tied with Redmond and Newport for the top spot in the KingCo Crest.

Skyline blanks Eastlake

Conner Lawhead pitched six scoreless innings and Jayce Nelson earned the save Friday as Skyline defeated Plateau rival Eastlake 3-0.

Tyler Neudorfer was 2-for-2 at the plate and Jim Sinatro was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Skyline improved to 6-5 in league and 8-7 overall. The Spartans can lock up a KingCo playoff berth with one more victory, or a Garfield loss.

Eastlake fell to 1-11 in league and 1-14 overall.

Eastside Catholic falls to Blanchet

Eastside Catholic lost a battle for first in the Metro Mountain, falling 9-3 to Blanchet Friday afternoon.

Braden Wolgamott was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Crusaders.

Sam Williams led the Braves going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Mark Klick was 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Eastside fell to 9-2 in league and 10-3 overall. Blanchet improved to 10-1 in league and 12-2 overall.

Eastlake shuts down Ballard

Nicole Guptil pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout on Friday, helping Eastlake to a 4-0 victory over Ballard.

Guptil was also 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. Sammi Stavig was 3-for-4 at the plate.

Eastlake improved to 4-3 in league and 7-4 overall.

Skyline tripped up by Bothell

Skyline jumped out to a fast start in the first inning Friday, but couldn’t hang on, falling 4-1 to Bothell.

Mickey Dunn-Blad gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single.

Bothell rallied for a run in the second, two in the third and another in the fourth.

Skyline out-hit the Cougars 7-4 for the game.

Skyline is now 5-3 in league and 8-4 overall.

Woodinville keeps Issaquah bats at bay

Woodinville continued its dominance in KingCo, beating Issaquah 8-1 Friday night.

The Eagles managed just one hit off of starter Maria Gau, coming off the bat of Chelsea Peart.

Issaquah fell to 3-5 in league and 5-6 overall with the loss. Woodinville is 7-1 in league and 10-1 overall.

Issaquah sinks Lake Washington

Issaquah scored two early goals Friday night and held on to beat Lake Washington, 2-1.

Quinn Grisham booted in an unassisted scored in the 11th minute and Michael Roberts added another score in the 16th minute on an assist from Alex Shane.

The Eagles improved to 5-2-1 in league and 7-5-1 overall. They are currently tied with Garfield in the standings for second and sit two points behind Bothell (6-2-0) for first place.

Skyline drops second straight

Skyline struck first, but couldn’t hold on Friday, falling 3-1 to Garfield.

Braxton Griffin knocked in an unassisted score in the 15th minute for a 1-0 Spartan lead. The Bulldogs countered with goals in the 25th, 50th and 66th minutes to seal the win.

Skyline dropped its second straight game, falling to 5-3-0 in league. The Spartans now sit in fourth place, one point behind Issaquah and Garfield, and three points behind Bothell.

Rudella leads Eastlake with four goals

Eastlake battled from behind to earn a 4-3 victory over Woodinville Friday night.

Trailing 3-2 in the 57th minute after a goal by Axell Paco, the Wolves rallied for two more scores to pull off the victory.

Nick Rudella, who booted in all four Eastlake scores, tied the game in the 67th minute off an assist from Luis Lopez. He knocked in the game-winner in the 74th minute off an assist from Sean Klauer. Rudella’s two other scores came in the 4th and 9th minutes. Assists came from Lopez and Cole Glover, respectively.

Eastlake improved to 4-2-2 in league and 5-3-3 overall. They are just four points behind league-leader Bothell with three games remaining.

BOYS LACROSSE

Skyline boys net fourth straight win

Danny Christianson scored five goals and Charlie Engel scored four Saturday to power Skyline to its fourth consecutive Division I lacrosse win, 14-9 over Puyuallup.

The win advanced Skyline to a 7-5-0 record for fourth place in the Northeast Conference.

Issaquah sinks Bainbridge

Todd Jones scored three goals and O’Neil Hughes had seven saves in goal as Issaquah defeated Bainbridge 5-2 Friday on the road.

The Eagles improved to 7-1 in league and 11-3 overall. Mercer Island and Bellevue are tied for the top spot with perfect 8-0 league records.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Issaquah stays undefeated

Katie Mincin scored six goals as Issaquah marched to a 20-7 Division II lacrosse win over Snohomish, Friday at Eastlake Community Field.

Callie Hahn had five saves for the Eagles in goal.

The win advanced Issaquah to 8-0-0 on the season.
