Jacksons Food Stores to fight domestic violence

Jacksons Food Stores and the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence have launched the “Give the Gift of Peace” campaign, a holiday season campaign that runs through December 25th to raise funds for the prevention of domestic violence and dating violence through community awareness. The stores are associated with four Shell stations in Issaquah and Sammamish.

 

Jacksons Food Stores and the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence have launched the “Give the Gift of Peace” campaign, a holiday season campaign that runs through December 25th to raise funds for the prevention of domestic violence and dating violence through community awareness.

The stores are associated with four Shell stations in Issaquah and Sammamish, 1605 NW Gilman Blvd., Issaquah; 825 Front St. North, Issaquah; 15 East Sunset Way, Issaquah; and 2936 228th Ave. SE.,Sammamish.

At the end of the campaign, Jacksons Chief Executive Officer John Jackson will match Jacksons Food Stores customers’ contributions dollar for dollar up to $75,000 with all the proceeds going to the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Since 2003, customers have contributed to the campaign by purchasing a paper dove for one dollar at Jacksons Food Stores. In the 2011 campaign, customers contributed over $29,000, resulting in over $58,000 in donations. The Washington campaign began in 2009, and donations have resulted in over $94,000 over the three years.
