Good news for cookie lovers – our local Girl Scouts will hit the streets and businesses of the Issaquah area this week, selling their famous tasty treats.

From Friday, Feb. 27, through to March 15, the Girl Scouts will have eight delicious varieties of cookies available, for $4 a box.

Girl Scout cookies are only sold for three short weeks, but the benefits for girls last throughout their entire lives.

A portion of the money raised goes directly to the local troops selling cookies, which allows troops to finance program goals and activities such as field trips, camp outings, and community service projects.

The remainder is used to make Girl Scouting available to every girl in the area who would like to participate.

Proceeds also help Girl Scouts of Western Washington recruit and train volunteers, maintain campgrounds, and support initiatives such as outreach, science activities, career workshops, and financial assistance.
