Red Cross Looking for heroes

The American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties is looking for ordinary individuals who have performed extraordinary deeds.

The American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties is looking for ordinary individuals who have performed extraordinary deeds.

On March 27, 2012, the Red Cross will present awards to local heroes who saved lives, exemplified the Red Cross mission or made significant, positive differences in their communities in the areas of emergency response, preparedness and prevention.

Previous award winners include Roxanne Paz who saved her grandmother’s neighbor from a bedroom fire, Todd DeGreen who helped save stranded hikers and Beth Lott and Robert Heyde who used their CPR skills to save a student.

The nominee must be a resident of, or employed within, King County or the heroic act must have occurred in King County. The heroic act must be ongoing or have occurred between Dec. 1, 2010, and Nov. 30, 2011.
