Help a local student

Similar to the VOICE program of community mentors run by the Issaquah School District, the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) also provides opportunities for volunteers to help out at their local schools.

Similar to the VOICE program of community mentors run by the Issaquah School District, the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) also provides opportunities for volunteers to help out at their local schools.

The LWSD currently has more than 60 open requests for volunteers throughout the cities of Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish, through their LINKS program. LINKS volunteers help teachers in many ways. There are opportunities available to work with multiple students in a classroom setting, tutor a student one on one, mentor elementary aged kids as a Lunch Buddy, or tutor during after schools study programs.

Join friends of the LWSD on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. to learn more about becoming a LINKS volunteer. The volunteer orientation will take place at the LWSD Resource Center located in Redmond Town Center, at 16250 N.E. 74th Street, Redmond.
