A 74-year-old Sammamish man died Monday after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car that crossed the center line on State Route 202 just west of Fall City, according to Washington State Patrol troopers.

A 26-year-old Redmond man who was driving the other car was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and is being held at the King County Jail in Seattle without bail. He had not been charged as of press time, but charges were expected to be filed by Thursday.

The Sammamish man was driving a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle east on 202 near Southeast 40th Street when the 1995 Geo Tracker driven by the Redmond man crossed the center line and hit the motorcycle, which was totaled and towed from the scene. He was wearing a helmet and declared dead at the scene, a report stated. The Reporter is not naming him because his relatives had not been notified as of Wednesday.

The Redmond man was not injured. Troopers believe he may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Redmond man is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail at the King County Jail in Seattle.
