Downtown group promoting donations, tax credit

The Downtown Issaquah Association is encouraging merchants to donate to the organization and receive a 75 percent tax credit on their state B&O tax. The credit is part of the Washington State Main Street Tax Incentive Program.

The Downtown Issaquah Association is encouraging merchants to donate to the organization and receive a 75 percent tax credit on their state B&O tax. The credit is part of the Washington State Main Street Tax Incentive Program.

Donations don’t have to be paid until Dec. 31, 2014 and the credit is applied to the the B&O tax due in 2015.

Registration can be made by signing up through an e-file account with Department of Revenue at http://dor.wa.gov. Click Credits & Tax Incentives in the left column and then click Apply for Main StreetTax Credit.
