Downed power lines and trees have caused at least two road closures in Issaquah so far Thursday, including a part of SR 900 from Talus Drive and south to the city limits.

The city also closed Southeast 56th Street from 229th Avenue Southeast to East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast, because of downed power lines.

Road crews are working around the clock to clear the roads of the freezing rain and snow from the roads, but weather reports aren’t calling for enough rain to melt away the mess until Friday. Snow is in the forecast again for Thursday night.

The city also announced a number of closures, including non-essential personnel at City Hall. Closures include the Julius Boehm Pool, Community Center, Passport Office and Permit Center.

All trash pickup has been canceled for the day. Those who got missed this week can double up their load next week for no extra cost.

This storm has caused downed trees and power outages. Puget Sound Energy customers can call an automated phone system at 1-888-225-5773 to report power outages and hear about service updates.
