Wanted to beat up cops:

On May 9 there was a report of a male acting strange and upsetting customers at a business in the 6100 Block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway. He was making comments about wanting to “beat up the cops.” The subject was contacted by police for the second time in the day; he denied making the comments. He was asked to move along.

Making people uncomfortable:

On May 9 a suspicious man at Overlake Urgent care was making people nervous. He said he called for a cab. Yellow Cab was contacted, and said he was on their list but they had no cabs available. The officer offered him a ride to the park-and-ride at 900 Newport, but he declined, and felt the officer was lying to get him into his car to take him to jail.

Noisy party:

On May 10 there was a report of loud party coming from a unit in the “D” building in the 18300 Block of SE Newport Way. The officer arrived on scene and heard loud talking/music in unit D-102. The officer knocked on the door approximately five times and the music went down. Nobody ever came to the door.

Neighbor dispute:

On May 10 an officer responded to a noise complaint in the 200 Block of N. Dogwood St.The caller was upset at his neighbor due to what he believed was to be excessive noise. He was very angry and insulting towards his neighbor. After talking to him for several minute he calmed down.

Suspicious activity in the dugout:

On May 11, it was reported that two males were in the dugout of the baseball field at Memorial Field in the 200 Block of NE Birch St. The reporting party saw several people coming and going to meet the two males. The officer contacted the males as they were leaving.

The party’s over

On May 10, an employee at Pickering Barn requested an officer stop by at a wedding party that wascleaning up, to prevent any problems. The employee advised the officer that some guests were upset the bar was closing.

Expensive items stolen from car:

A vehicle theft was reported on May 10 in the 300 Block of NW Gilman. $1,795 worth of camera equipment and an iPad were taken from a 2005 Cadillac STX.

Animal in danger:

On May 11 a dog was located in a car with the windows rolled up in the 6200 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. The outside temperature was about 64 degrees. The vehicle ownerreturned just as the officer arrived at the car. The officer talked to the driver about leaving a dog in a hot car.

Vehicle prowls:

On May 11 a caller was concerned about all the vehicle prowls that are occurring in the secure parking garage in her building in the 1800 Block of 25th Ave. NE. She stated that she does notlive at this location anymore but still owns a condo there and is concerned for the lady that rents it from her.

Trouble in the village:

On May 12 it was reported that Gilman Village is having problems with people sleeping and using drugs during the night in the village. The caller further stated that they have seen some of these people coming from the area under the Juniper bridge.

Heartless person:

On May 13 an officer was dispatched to the report of a duck in the 1800 Block of 12th Ave. NW that wouldn’t leave the roadway, as her babies had been run over. The officer checked the area and located the deceased birds, but did not see any sign of any other birds. No traffic issues observed.

Flip-off:

On May 13 a caller reported being involved in a road rage incident. She indicated that another driver believed she was speeding on Black Nugget Road. She stated that she flipped off the other driver. The other driver then acted as if she was calling the police.

Paintball goes splat:

On May 13, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 5600 Block of 230th Ave. SE. His front door had been shot with a paintball. He said that an individual in a white truck had shot the door. He indicated that he did not recognize the vehicle and has not been in a dispute with any individuals at this time. The same day, subjects were reported to have been shooting paint balls on an access roadin the 1900 Block of NE Park Dr. The officer located the subject(s) and found that they were related to a previous call involving a paint ball gun and shooting it at a residence.

Drunk at Freddy’s:

On May 14 an officer was contacted by a Fred Meyer employee regarding a male subject who passed out inside of the store. The officer went into the store and located the subject who ended up being very intoxicated.

Rollin’ along:

On May 15 a vehicle was found out of gear, in neutral and rolling away in the 1500 Block of NW Gilman Blvd. Citizens stopped the vehicle and placed a rock behind the tire. The owner of the vehicle arrived and was notified of the issue.

Squawking birds okay:

On May 15 an officer responded to an animal complaint regarding birds in a car in the 300 Block of NW Gilman Blvd. All the windows were cracked approximately three to four inches and the vehicle was not warm. The tropical birds were fine. The reporting party came out and said the customers were upset because the birds were squawking.

Sammamish

Custody battle: April 27. A divorced Sammamish couple argued over custody rights to their 12-year-old daughter. In 2008 at the time of their divorce, the father lived in Costa Rica and parenting plan was generated in 2009. The visitation plan states that if the father lives in the same geographic area as the mother, he may then see his daughter on specific dates and times. However, the father retained custody of his daughter outside of these times because the 12-year-old stated to police that she wanted to stay with her dad. The mother and father will be consulting their attorneys regarding the current custody situation.

Smoke a little, drink a little: April 28. A Sammamish officer pulled a vehicle over near Klahanie Boulevard at 2 p.m. for speeding and noticed the car also was also billowing smoke. The driver was extremely nervous and admitted that he knew something was wrong with the car, but it was his brother’s car. The driver attempted to leave the scene and walk home. Upon further investigation, the officer believed that the driver was under the influence of cannabis and put him in handcuffs. When the officer was placing the driver in the back seat of his cruiser, he smelled alcohol on his breath and asked if he had been drinking. The driver admitted that he had a couple beers earlier. He blew a .104. The car was impounded and he was charged with a DUI. However the officer chose to withhold referring the case to the city attorney and DOL.

Trashed laptop: April 29. A Sammamish resident found an Asus laptop in a brown cloth carrier in the middle of Sahalee Way Northeast. There was no one in the area to claim the item, so she turned it over to police. Officers said the laptop was destroyed, but they noticed a red and white sticker with MS Asset and a number on it. They called Microsoft and were told the company would contact the police as soon as it could discover if the laptop was owned by the company.

Rock in the fence: April 30. A Sammamish resident on 250 Court Southeast notified police that someone opened her fence gate overnight. The gate was propped open with a rock. Nothing was missing from the back yard.

Mysterious garage door: May 1. A resident at 224th Place Southeast called police after returning from the nearby park and noticing her garage door was open. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was missing. Police asked the woman if she had a history of finding her garage door open and she said yes, she has found her garage door open three times in the past all with no signs of burglary. The responding officer issued her a case number and advised her to call back if she finds anything suspicious.
