Skyline advances to state tournament

The Skyline Spartans will face the Snohomish Panthers in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs at 10 a.m. on May 23 at Everett Memorial Stadium in Everett. The Spartans have won their past three games in a row.

Issaquah falls against Skyline in loser-out game

The Skyline Spartans defeated the Issaquah Eagles 4-3 in a Class 4A KingCo loser-out game on May 12 in Woodinville.

Issaquah dominates KingCo meet

The Issaquah Eagles girls track team captured first place at the Class 4A KingCo Championships on May 15 at Juanita High School in Kirkland. The Eagles, who tallied 137 team points, finished 38.5 points ahead of the second place finisher Mount Si. Eagles girls athletes capturing first place finishes in the KingCo finals included Nikki Stephens (100-meter dash, 400-meter dash), Sami Corman (1600-meter run) and Cayla Seligman (3200-meter run). The Eagles 800-meter relay team consisting of Alia Sugarman, Bella Foos, Elise Burdette and Stephens captured first place. The Eagles 1600-meter relay squad of Foos, Corman, Burdette and Stephens also collected a first place finish. In boys action, Issaquah sprinter Ray Littles cruised to a first place showing in the 100-meter dash. The Issaquah boys team earned a fifth place finish at the meet, compiling 71 points.

Wolves make impact at KingCo meet

Eastlake sophomore Pia Richards earned second place in the 1600-meter run and third place in the 3200-meter run. Wolves’ senior Ellie Woerner finished in third place in the 100-meter hurdles. Junior Maddy Kennedy captured third place in the 300-meter hurdles. In boys action, Nathan Pixler collected first place finishes in the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run. Brandon Naluai nabbed second place in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.

Spartans athletes perform well at KingCo meet

Skyline junior Brandi Hughes captured second place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Spartans’ junior Maizy Brewer nabbed second place in the 3200-meter run. Skyline senior Vaiva Snapkauskaite collected third place finishes in the shot put and discus. In boys action, Lane Mallula collected second place in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. The Spartans 1600-meter relay team consisting of Jack Welch, Blake Hallauer, Joseph Bretl and Tyler Ma captured first place with a time of 3:23.10. Skyline senior thrower Elijah Nichols earned second place in discus.
