Nominations sought for county small business awards

The city of Issaquah and the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the King County Executive’s Small Business Awards.

 

The city of Issaquah and the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the King County Executive’s Small Business Awards.

To be eligible a business must be located in King County, be for-profit and have been in operation for at least three years and have no more than 50 employees.

Nominations are due by July 25 to the county’s Economic Development Manager, Andrea Snyder, or online. The county will announce three finalists for each category in early September.

The awards program started in 2011 and is dedicated to celebrating the importance and the accomplishments of small businesses throughout King County.

The seven categories are small business of the year, minority-owned small business of the year, woman-owned small business of the year, exporting small business of the year, green/sustainable small business of the year, workforce development small business of the year and rural small business of the year.

The awards will be presented Oct. 15 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
